A focused dedication to preserving the Edo-era craft of Etchū-Yatsuo Washi, a handmade paper known for its durability and water resistance, originally used to wrap local medicine. Founded by Keisuke Yoshida in 1960, the studio continues to operate in Yatsuo, Toyama, revitalising the tradition. Keijusha’s colourful paper cushions, adorned with ancient Ainu and African patterns applied through a unique traditional stencil-dyeing technique, carry important stories and cultural traditions into modern life.
