• Marutomi

    From Fukui

  • Marutomi, a traditional Japanese lacquerware maker that embraced changing times through modern materials, and Masanori Umeda, a Japanese postmodern designer influenced by his time with the Memphis Group, both hail from Fukui, Japan. Together, they created a celebrated line of architectural plant pots in 2002 that has since become a collector’s item on the global design scene.
